How do I commission a smart device?

To properly configure a Smart Bridge so that it works with the connected equipment, it is important to have the correct configuration.

To ensure a Smart Bridge works seamlessly with the equipment connected to it, it is essential to have the correct configuration and software version installed on the Smart Bridge.

Smart Bridge

Despite some differences in the equipment, the configuration procedure is the same:

  1. Make sure the Smart Bridge is connected to the Priva network and visible in the overview.

  2. Click on the Add new equipment button.

    • Select the Equipment that the Smart Bridge connects to

    • Provide a unique location for the equipment

    • Select the Smart Bridge part of this equipment

    • Select any optional sensors

  3. Select the equipment just created and go to the Configuration tab

  4. Configure the IP address of the Smart Bridge

  5. Update the Smart Bridge by clicking the update button

  6. Configure relevant settings and calibrate any sensors for this equipment in the Configuration tab

  7. Deactivate the maintenance mode of the Smart Bridge by clicking the three dots button

Once the Smart Bridge is configured, it can read out the sensor data and is ready to send information to the CPC(s).

Connext Process Controller (CPC)

To configure the CPC to read the information from the equipment, the following steps should be followed:

  1. Click on the CPC for which you want to configure the IO. A list of connections will show up

  2. Click on Manual edit

  3. Click on + Add for the “Control area(s)” that should get the sensor data from the configured equipment

  4. Select the right equipment from the list of available equipment

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all sensors are connected. Then click on Done editing
