How to enable multifactor authentication

Enabling multifactor authentication (MFA) significantly enhances the security of custom accounts by adding an extra layer of verification in addition to your sign-in password. Priva offers SMS and phone call options for MFA.

If your administrator enforces MFA for your custom account, you will be required to use it and will not have the option to disable it.

It's essential to note that MFA is associated with your account, rather than a specific organization. This means that if you enable MFA, it will apply to all the organizations you can access with your account.

Similarly, if an administrator requires MFA for their organization, you will need to use MFA for all organizations to which you have access.

Enable or disable MFA for my account

If MFA is not enforced by your administrator, you have the option to enable or disable it yourself:

Enable MFA when creating your account

You can enable MFA during the account creation process (after accepting an invitation).

Enable/disable in your profile

You can enable or disable MFA in your account profile:

1. Go to Edit profile

2. After enabling MFA, return to Edit profile to enter your phone number
