Read how the way that Horticulture API users manage their site access and sharing is changing.
Growers
Instead of using the Horti API Services specific website to share a site with an integration partner, you will soon be able to use Access Control's site sharing to accomplish the same thing. The integration partners you are familiar with will be available in the categories "Data Providing Integration Partner" and "Data Retrieving Integration Partner" from the site sharing wizard.
⚠️ If these categories are not available to your organization, but you used to be able to access the Horti API services specific website, please contact Priva support.
Share with a partner in the category "Data Providing Integration Partner" if that partner is going to add data to the Priva cloud for you. Share with a partner in the category "Data Retrieving Integration Partner" in situations where the partner needs data from the Priva cloud to offer their services to you. Some partners will be in both categories.
When sharing your site with a partner in this way, you only give that partner access to perform those specific functions on your site.
Integration Partners
As integration partners, the old Horti API Services website provided an overview of which sites were shared with you and by which growers they were shared.
In the new situation, you will be able to view the sites that are shared with you via Access Control's site sharing. This overview will show you when the site was shared, by which grower, and which permissions the grower shared with you. The new site sharing functionality also sends you updates by e-mail whenever a grower shares a new site with you, or revokes access to a site.
The way you access the APIs has been simplified but might require you to update your application code. More information about these changes can be found on our Priva Horticulture Developer Portal.
Application developers
Whether you are an application developer for a Grower or an Integration Partner, you could previously use the old Horti API Services website to access the credentials that allowed you access to the APIs. Now you can access the same information via the Access control Applications tab. This allows you to define your own applications, each with separate credentials.
These applications can have different permissions allowing you to configure just the permissions your application needs, and nothing more. To learn more about assigning different permissions for different sites, please visit our article about using roles at the site level.
